Job Description

Manages the Nuerophysiologist (NP) Credentialing Team, internal and external credentialing process under the supervision of the Senior Manager, Credentialing including but not limited to the following, 

  • Responsible for managing all aspects of technologist credentialing with both internally and externally.
  • Manage day to day Physician Credentialing Team.
  • Team time card management
  • Team Training requirements
  • Responsible for training and supervising new hires
  • Manage Team keep physician credentials up to date, administer tracking, and reminder system
  • Act as a resource for new and current credentialing staff
  • Complete technologist and clinical associate’s applications for hospital privileges; work closely with hospital medical staff office
  • Supervise the updating of technologist and clinical associate credentials and administration of tracking and reminder system
  • Approve technologist and clinical associate credentials in database
  • Supervise completion of OIG and SAM checks monthly and SOR checks for all clinical employees biannually
  • Responsible for audit of technologist credentialing files to Joint Commission standards
  • Filing, data entry, database maintenance
  • Responsible for confidential and time sensitive material
  • Knowledge of organization’s policies, procedures and systems.
  • Have an overall working knowledge of the credentialing process and requirements for NCS
  • Knowledge of NCQA and/or JCAHO Accreditation standards.
  • Knowledgeable in Federal and State Regulation on Confidentiality and Peer Review Guidelines.
  • Skilled in computer applications including MS Word, MS Excel, database administration and scanning applications.
  • Have excellent customer service skills.
  • Have strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to be flexible to change and growth.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, high volume environment.
  • Demonstrate ethical problem-solving skills.
  • Skilled in professional verbal, written and email communications.

· Communicate professionally with the public and other internal departments.

·  Ability to independently and consistently execute job responsibilities within a reasonable timeframe.

  • Complete physician applications for the state medical licenses and hospital privileges; work closely with the state licensing boards and hospital medical staff offices.
  • Process initial applications and reappointments for hospitals and surgical centers as assigned by leadership.
  • Populate and prepare applications for providers.
  • Facilitate and Track onboarding paperwork and applications to and from providers.
  • Review provider applications for accuracy and completeness.
  • Perform primary source verification's to meet USAP required credentialing standards.
  • Maintain complete and accurate provider credentialing files.
  • Monitor and notify providers of upcoming expiable certifications, including expiring privileges, licensures, board certifications, MOC requirements and all other state and national required documents necessary for the practitioner to legally and ethically perform under their scope of practice.
  • Maintain and update the credentialing database and medical staff services as provider information and credentials change or renew.
  • Maintain and update continuing medical education credits and other training requirements.
  • Establish and maintain professional working relationships with providers and medical staff service departments.
  • Provide weekly status updates to providers and leadership.
  • Demonstrate exemplary customer service to our providers and facilities.
  • Meet targeted credentialing deadlines and start dates.
  • Consistently meet USAP set work standards.
  • Proficiently use the USAP credentialing system as instructed by leadership.
  • Contribute to the advancement and growth of the department.
  • Other tasks as assigned

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience
  • Prior database experience and/or experience working in a hospital administration desired
  • Leadership experience on medical credentialing technicians
Preferred Qualifications
  • Good communication skills – written, telephone, and email. Must be articulate, personable, and able to make calls to hospital staff offices.
  • Attention to detail, good computer skills – MS, Word, Excel
  • Must have high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations.
  • Associate’s degree or equivalent and two years work related experience
  • Prior credentialing experience required
  • Prior database experience and/or experience working in hospital administration desired.
