Job Description

Summary Statement:

Responsible for directing execution of operation with incessant focus on quality and efficiency improvements.  Plan and manage all areas of distribution, quality control, packaging, assembly, service and repair for domestic and international customers consistent with quality, delivery, and cost objectives.  Partners with field logistics teams and freight managers to ensure success in perfect order delivery to hospitals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct all logistics execution with incessant focus on quality and efficiency improvements.

  • Plan and manage all areas of distribution domestic and international customers consistent with cost, quality and delivery objectives.  This includes responsibility for receipt, warehousing and distribution of product.  Along with procurement of transportation functions.

  • Optimize distribution center resources, inclusive of labor planning to manage capacity.

  • Lead facility upgrade in regards to design, layout, automation and stocking strategy.

  • Evaluate and implement quality driven distribution projects including productivity, inventory and workflows.

  • Foster effective communication with internal business functions and external business partners to provide a leadership role in maximizing customer satisfaction.

  • Translate company business strategy into a distribution strategy with aligned operational plans, processes and targets.

  • Ensure that products are being delivered to our warehouse and to our customers on time and at the best cost. Manage relationships and contracts with freight forwarders and common carriers to continuously improve performance.

  • Create Standard Operating Procedures to document and streamline business procedures while adding appropriate quality controls.

  • Oversee adherence to all standard operating procedures, compliance with applicable FDA and state regulations as well as standards including, but not limited to, ISO 13485

Nature and Scope:

  • Leads an entire function for a sub-region or significant business unit; or leads a sub-function for a division or major region; or is a global leader for a major team.  Develops policies and authorizes / guides their implementation.
  • Creates and drives strategy for the area of responsibility with some operational and tactical responsibility. 
  • Regularly interacts with senior leadership, requiring negotiation and influence on critical policy-making decisions (internal and external).
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in supply chain, operations, business or related field

  • Minimum 7-10 years of  Operations/Supply Chain lead management experience

  • Experienced with ERP/WMS systems, including implementations

  • Strong experience with different warehouse management systems & capabilities. as well as distribution footprint & network optimization

  • Proven track record of improving warehouse labor efficiency and maintaining high levels of inventory accuracy and customer service

  • Previous project management experience

  • Strong background in creating a safety driven culture

Preferred Qualifications
  • Six Sigma Certification preferred but not required.
