Job Description

Administers network and critical systems for Nuvasive Clinical Services: assists with company wide networking and critical systems issues.  Works independently to monitor and maintain the items mentioned below under the supervision of the NCS and Nuvasive NetOps leads as part of a team designing and maintaining network infrastructure for a billion-dollar international company.


  • Monitors LAN/WAN performance
  • Supports Cisco Routers, Cisco switches, Cisco ASA and Palo Alto firewalls, Aruba access points, F5 and Riverbed appliances
  • Performs preventative maintenance, upgrades and configuration support on systems mentioned above
  • Interacts with hardware vendors on support contracts and service
  • Backs up the Server Infrastructure Team; supporting VMware 5-6, Windows Server 2008-2016, custom applications and domain administration
  • Tracks equipment inventory and handles vendor management
  • Works with client hospitals, IT staff and field techs to maintain and troubleshoot connectivity for telemedicine
  • Coordinates with Hospital Network Security personnel on policy and requirements for devices connecting to client hospital networks
Basic Qualifications

Strong understanding of:

·        Customer Service

·        Networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, routing and wireless protocols, VLAN, ACL and NAT configurations

·        VMware, Hyper-V and Azure virtual networking

·        SSL and IPsec VPN client and site to site tunneling, route and policy based

·        Cisco AnyConnect client configuration

·        Zabbix, Solarwinds Orion and fundamental network monitoring

·        General network mapping tools and documentation

·        Network troubleshooting methodology and general documentation of that work  

Preferred Qualifications

 Six+ years in IT with two focused on networking or equivalent certifications (Network +, CCENT, CCNA, PCNSE), experience with a global organization/large scale WAN managment, Cloud PBX, SDWAN, Cisco DMVPN
