Job Description

Reporting into the Global Operations organization, this position: Lead Project Manager serves in the role of team leader and has the ultimate responsibility for the successful performance of the assigned projects. The Lead Project Manager directs and oversees the assigned projects and tasks to ensure such initiative meet organization goals and requirements. Oversee projects from initiation through release, ensuring projects are completed on time and on budget 

Works with other department leaders and resources to define, prioritize, and drive projects and initiatives.  Key responsibility for managing the project’s scope, deliverables, schedule, budget and quality. Some projects may include global business integrations, insourcing, outsourcing, Opex, IT business systems deployment, and product transfers.

·       Determines project specifications by studying product design, customer requirements, and performance standards; completing technical studies; preparing cost estimates.

  • Determines project schedule by studying project plan and specifications; calculating time requirements; sequencing project elements.

·       Analyze technology, resource needs, and market demand, to plan and assess the feasibility of projects.

·       Plan and direct the procurement, installation, testing, operation, maintenance, and repair of facilities and equipment.

·       Develop and deploy manufacturing processes that set industry benchmarks for lead-time, small lots sizes and cost.  

·       Develops project objectives by reviewing project proposals and plans; conferring with management.

·       Determines project responsibilities by identifying project phases and elements; assigning personnel to phases and elements.

  • Maintains project schedule by monitoring project progress; coordinating activities; resolving problems.
  • Controls project plan by reviewing design, specifications, and plan and schedule changes; recommending actions.
  • Controls project costs by approving expenditures and administering contracts.
  • recommending actions.
  • Maintains accurate timelines and provides regular updates on projects status.

·       Ability to effectively influence others, develop consensus, and create support throughout the organization

·       Work closely with operations leaders, team members, and business stakeholders to ensure successful execution and delivery of manufacturing launch projects

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • At least 10 – 12 years previous experience in technical positions within in a Class II or III medical device manufacturing facility.
  • Project planning and execution responsibilities
  • Experience in project management.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of manufacturing technology transfers  
  • Able to communicate effectively.
  • Budget development and management responsibilities.
  • Strong understanding of Process Validations
  • Must understand, follow and comply with regulatory requirements as applicable to various processes relative to your position. An understanding of FDA Quality System Regulations and ISO 13485 Standards relative to your position will be required.
Preferred Qualifications

·       PMP certification or equivalent

  • Strong knowledge of machining, finishing, molding, cleaning, coating, upgrade, and clean-room operations.
  • Develop and present strategic initiatives.
  • Lean\Six Sigma certification
