The Capital Sales Specialist is responsible for driving brand awareness and sales of Nuvasive capital equipment within a defined geographic territory.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Articulate Nuvasive’s unique value proposition in an effort to accelerate revenue and market penetration
  • Create territory and account development strategies and execute a plan to achieve assigned sales objectives
  • Cultivate strategic relationships with hospital and hospital system stakeholders, in an effort  to influence buying decisions and promote adoption of Nuvasive products
  • Influence and drive consensus of multiple stakeholders in a complex sales environment
  • Achieve and exceed company/team sales objectives
  • Engage in key market development initiatives including strategic account development, KOL management, business-to-business transactions, medical education and product brand awareness
  • Keep abreast of industry/market trends and competitive developments and communicate information upstream as appropriate
  • Develop tailored call plans for key hospital constituents including, but not limited to, Surgeons, X-ray techs, OR Directors, Risk Management, Biomedical Engineering, Purchasing, IT, Executive Suite, etc.  
  • Proficiency in forecasting and sales pipeline management
  • Disciplined use of CRM to capture and maintain customer information
  • Support field marketing efforts via product demonstrations, trade show attendance and regional events as assigned by Leader, Capital Sales.
  • Attain & maintain clinical competency of Nuvasive products - Surgical case coverage is required, with the goal of providing the highest degree of value to surgeon and patient
  • Expense management

Additional Responsibilities/Requirements:

Perform duties in compliance with applicable FDA and state regulations as well as standards including, but not limited to, ISO 13485.

Basic Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 5+ years capital equipment sales experience (OR & imaging experience is a plus)
  • Consistent history in meeting and exceeding sales quotas
  • Exemplary time and territory management skills
  • Excellent presentation & communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple, complex priorities within demanding timeframes
  • Background in new market development.
  • Ability to solve complex problems by collecting and assimilating multiple data points to draw valid conclusions and derive meaningful solutions
  • Easy access to a major airport

Working Conditions:

·         Field based/home office environment

·         Travel required: 50%+

·         Use of own car for local travel

Preferred Qualifications

OR & imaging experience is a plus
