Job Description

NuVasive is seeking a Software Engineer to become a key member of our Robotics Spinal Surgery platform development team. The right candidate for this position can expect to work with our experienced engineers to develop our next generation biomedical device.  Work will include hands on software design and development, in addition to leading an experienced team of developers. The work will be highly collaborative with both internal customers and external suppliers. This opportunity represents a unique opportunity for growth-oriented candidates with robotics experience interested in working in an Agile team environment with opportunities to develop their expertise.


Essential Responsibilities:


  • Team Lead/Scrum Master for our software team
  • Translating marketing requirements into user stories
  • Full Stack programming skills
  • Ability to engage with test team to ensure work is completed to production quality by the end of each sprint
  • Collaborate with other team leads and architect to ensure product consistency
  • Follow team code review best practices
  • Maintain documentation to assist in onboarding new team members
  • Trouble shoot to solve issues and resolve defects in a fast paced multi-team collaborative environment
  • Work independently, but knows when to engage fellow engineering colleagues for their experience
Basic Qualifications
  •  Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Hands-on experience in designing, documenting and developing software for medical systems
  • Proven track record of implementing and analyzing software systems for performance and compatibility
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively and efficiently
  • Ability to respond and adapt to changing priorities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office with a strong ability to write business reports and correspondence as well as the ability to speak effectively before groups of customers, employees, and management of organization.
  • Proficient in developing unit tests
Preferred Qualifications
  • Medical device development environment experience
  • Visual Studio/C#/.Net
  • Robotics Experience
  • Git source control
