Job Description

Our Sr. OR Tech ensures the complete set up and preparation of all onsite spine training labs, including all instruments, equipment and cadaveric specimens.  You'll manage all cadaveric specimens, surgical instruments, and disposable inventory, while maintaining overall neatness and cleanliness of lab, lab prep, and clean-up.  In this lead role, you'll learn and understand the procedures being performed and anticipate the needs of the surgeon(s).

 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage process for setting up surgical instruments, disposable linens, C-arm fluoroscopy, neuromonitoring, and other equipment before and during every surgical event, including assembling and inspecting sterile and non-sterile equipment.

  • Assisting with dosimeter allocation, collection & tracking.

  • Ensure that there are adequate safety postings in the lab & surrounding the lab in conjunction with OSHA requirements and internal SOP’s.

  • Track inventory in Excel, and work with vendors on lab replenishments and pick-ups.

  • Creatively problem solve with limited resources, juggle multiple requests and meet deadlines, and make budget suggestions.

  • Work with a diverse group of individuals including: spine surgeons, surgical staff, internal customers: Marketing, R&D, Sales and across all other NuVasive Departments.

  • Perform duties in compliance with applicable FDA and state regulations as well as standards including, but not limited to, ISO 13485.


 
Basic Qualifications
  • Experience maintaining a neat, orderly, and clean operating lab minimizing hazards while operating safely

  • Ability to utilize C-arm Flouroscopy for spine procedures– and willingness to work around radiation

  • Must be able to wear lead-vest, thyroid protection, eye protection, and other PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) at all times while C-arm is in use

  • Working knowledge of MS Office

  • Ability to lift 70 lbs

Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous OR experience as a C-arm tech or surgical scrub tech
