Job Description

The Associate Machinist is responsible for the overall function of a CNC machine. Providing open communication regarding production and routing any malfunctions to the appropriate person. The Associate Machinist helps in establishing best practices to ensure the highest quality and output of the machine. 


Essential Responsibilities:

  • Maintains organization, cleanliness, and housekeeping (5S) within the work area at the highest degree possible, reporting any maintenance issues.
  • Assists with basic machine set-ups. 
  • Verifies conformance of finished work-piece to specifications using various measuring tools such as: CMMs, calipers, micrometers, comparators, and vision systems.
  • Utilizes work orders, blueprints (GD&T), sketches, written and verbal instructions to complete required tasks.
  • Ensures the tools with the machine match those on the tool list. 
  • Loads and unloads parts onto the machine. 
  • Enters information into Camstar manufacturing platform (MES) and fill out the machine report sheet. 
  • Confers with production personnel to resolve basic machining problems. 
  • Works with team to build and sustain a safe and friendly working environment.
  • Actively engages in leading a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Influences surrounding shareowners in a positive manner.
  • Stays on task and ensures current day scheduled work is completed on time.
  • Drives quality compliance using good manufacturing and document practices and workmanship standards.
  • Provides basic training and guidance to other machinists
  • Performs duties in compliance with applicable FDA and state regulations as well as standards including, but not limited to, ISO 13485.
  • Perform other job duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Attendance and punctuality
  • 0-3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
