Job Description

This position is responsible for posting and applying receivables to patient accounts under the direct supervision of the Associate Manager for Posting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receives payment and/or credits or denials that pertain to patient accounts and applies them accordingly.
  • Obtains payment detail for payments received if none was provided with payment.
  • Follows up and identifies with the appropriate Collection Specialist regarding all non payments, denials, and inadequate payments contained on remittances received.
  • Applies offset payments to patient accounts when they are received.
  • Download, process and post electronic payments on a daily basis.
  • Maintains daily reports, such as the Payment Posting Report, to be reconciled on a weekly basis with the Finance Department in order to ensure all payments deposited have been posted.
Basic Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be detail oriented.
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Able to maintain confidentiality.
  • Able to file, perform accounting functions and maintain records.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to function as a polite and cooperative team member with a positive attitude.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with medical billing terminology and cash receipts preferred.
