Job Description

Position Overview:

The Sr. Credentialing Coordinator will assist the Credentialing Manager in all aspects related to the credentialing and recredentialing of practitioners and facilities. The primary duties involve processing and maintaining practitioner credentialing information and performing all associated duties to ensure Credentialing Department operates according to Joint Commission standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Complete physician applications for the state medical licenses and hospital privileges; work closely with the state licensing boards and hospital medical staff offices.
  • Help keep physician credentials up to date, administer tracking, and reminder system
  • Filing, data entry, and database maintenance.
  • Responsible for confidential and time sensitive material
  • Ability to follow through all projects
  • Strong networking and communication skills across various internal departments.
Basic Qualifications
  • Associates Degree and/or 3-4 years of experience in Credentialing.
  • Strong communication skills – written, telephone, and email. Must be articulate, personable, and able to establish relationships with hospital staff offices.
  • Experience with high volume in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office experience (Word, Excel)
  • Proven ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Prior HIPAA Training

Preferred Qualifications
  • Associates degree or Bachelor’s degree
  • Prior Hospital Credentialing Experience
  • Prior database experience such as Intellicred and Cactus.
