Job Description

The Surgical Instrument Servicing Technician position is part of the Instrument Servicing Team that supports the servicing of medical instruments used during spine surgery. The position coordinates closely with the Operations Team, Development Team, Marketing Team, and Quality Assurance Team. The principal responsibility of the Servicing Technician position is to perform test and repair procedures for medical equipment. Detailed documentation of servicing activities and inventory transactions is imperative.


Essential duties and responsibilities include but not limited to the following:

  • Test, troubleshoot, and repair medical instruments
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings (GD&T)
  • Inspect instrument specifications with calipers, micrometers, plug gages, thread gages, and optical comparator
  • Test instrument functionality
  • Coordinate, document, and ship medical instruments to third party service providers
  • Follow all Regulatory and Safety requirements
  • Perform duties in compliance with applicable FDA and state regulations as well as standards including, but not limited to, ISO 13485
  • Follow all current standard operating procedures
  • Draft and release new standard operating procedures
  • Communicate operational issues and improvements to management daily
  • Applicant must have the ability to perform all the above responsibilities with minimal supervision 
Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years experience in related function
  • Experience in a regulated environment (e.g. FDA QSR, ISO 13485, etc.)
  • Basic knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
  • High school diploma
Preferred Qualifications

Demonstrated experience and knowledge of device manufacturing, final assembly, finishing, laser marking, and machining
